Description: Designed by Golf Course Architect Thomas M. Bendelow, this heavily wooded 18-hole course is located on Rockford's west side. Opened on September 2, 1922, Ingersoll is a long-time favorite of local golfers. While there is no water on the 6,107-yard course, and the par 4's are short, the tightly tree-lined fairways make keeping the ball down imperative. The gently rolling terrain is a classic example of golf course architecture of the 1920s. This challenging course was chosen by Tiger Woods for a Youth Golf Clinic in 2001 and 2004; clubhouse and driving range. Par 71.
The Ingersoll Learning Links opened in 2004 and consists of a 4-hole, par 3 course, driving range, practice green and practice bunker. The facility is home to the majority of Park District Youth Lesson Programs. The course is open for play Sundays from 1-5 p.m., May through September.
