Hot Time In the Summertime…For the Guys!

Day One, morning
After breakfast, spend some time with nature…on the golf course that is. You won’t find better conditions in all of the Midwest and with such affordable greens fees. The Rockford Park District and Winnebago County Forest Preserve manage the eight fabulous courses in the area that gave Rockford its Golf Digest three-year consecutive ranking as the USA’s “Best Mid-Sized City for Golf." Aldeen Golf Club and Practice Centre was awarded 4-1/2 stars by Golf Digest’s “Places to Play" guide!
 
Day One, evening
Summer brings the Rockford tradition of motor sport racing at the Rockford Speedway. Top-name NASCAR racing on a quarter-mile, high-banked track with more than 85 scheduled events per year and post-season National Short Track and Little Car Championships. Or, if you’d rather watch SCCA sports car events, autocross, motorcycle and go-kart races you’ll want to hit Blackhawk Farms Raceway. A road course as well as off-road and motorcycle dirt tracks are featured. If you’re feeling lucky, head to Trackside Off-Track Betting for a little wagering on the horses. Simulcast racing from the best thoroughbred and harness tracks across the country--Arlington Park, Calder Racecourse, Churchill Downs, Hollywood Park and others.
 
Lodging
