Dine Around the World at Rockford City Market - Market Offers Variety of Different Cuisines

ROCKFORD, IL – Market guests don’t have to go far to enjoy different types of cuisine on Friday nights. Rockford City Market vendors offer a wide variety of food from different ethnic backgrounds. Guests can enjoy authentic Indian curry from Curry Bowls, unique Mediterranean food including Falafels and Borekas from Ronit’s Kitchen, or delicious Southeast Asian cuisine from the Wok ‘n’ Roll food truck by Bamboo. Shoppers can also enjoy fresh Greek food from the Olive Branch Greek Food Truck including Gyros, Spanakopita and Baklava, or delectable Puerto Rican kabobs hot off the grill from Wepa Cuisine. Guests are encouraged to try a little bit of everything and enjoy all of the different options the market has to offer!

Come watch the free cooking demonstration at the market at 6 p.m. near the East State Street Pavilion entrance. This week’s demonstration focuses on in-season tomatoes and basil with their recipe for Ravioli Puttanesca.



The Winnebago County 4-H Club will be offering hands-on activities for the kids while teaching about their organization.


The Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter will be offering Promise flowers and forget-me-nots to color for the kids as well as brain game activities for the young at heart. The Alzheimer’s Association is hoping to bring awareness of Alzheimer’s and related dementia support offered by the Alzheimer’s Association as well as promoting their upcoming signature fundraising event on September 15, Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Rockford at Rock Valley College.



The Rockford IceHogs and BMO Harris Bank Center will be promoting the upcoming 2018-19 IceHogs season along with the upcoming entertainment calendar at the BMO Harris Bank Center and Coronado Performing Arts Center.



Leaf River Woodcrafters will have some of their finest hardwood slab furniture available at the market. Pieces include tables, benches, chairs, lamp stands, and much more.

Rockford City Market takes place every Friday from May 18 through September 28 along Water Street between State and Jefferson Streets in downtown Rockford. The market runs from 3:30 – 8:30 p.m. before Labor Day and 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. after Labor Day.
