In Good Company Celebrates Rockford's Dynamic Culture
40 photographs featured at 30 locations throughout the Rockford Region

October 7, 2014

ROCKFORD, IL - In Good Company (IGC), a photography + video exhibit created by Nels Akerlund Photography + Video, highlights 40 highly conceptual photographs depicting the people and places that make the region appealing for residents and attractive to visitors. The 40 4ft.x6ft. photographs are on display at 30 different locations throughout the Rockford Region until January 5, 2014.

The community is encouraged to participate and discover this exhibit by taking a selfie with as many of the photograph exhibits as possible, including the hashtag #InGoodCompanyRKFD and posting to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Each participant will be entered into a drawing to win a 365 Days of Fun package, including prizes from area museums, attractions and restaurants, from exhibit sponsor Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB).

"We are surrounded by so many hard-working, creative, inspiring citizens in our community. This exhibit gives our residents and visitors an opportunity to celebrate these individuals with us and to visit the many impressive local businesses that these photographs will be displayed in," said John Groh, president/CEO of the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The RACVB will host a closing reception at the end of the exhibition, called "Beautiful Company," on January 10 from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. at Rockford's historic City Hall. Each of the 40 photographs will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the recently launched Forest City Beautiful initiative.
