Kick Off Labor Day Weekend in Downtown Rockford
Last Week of Summer Hours at Rockford City Market

ROCKFORD, IL – Start off your Labor Day weekend activities by stopping by Rockford City Market! With the sun starting to set earlier, the market will move to their fall hours next week, so this is the final week that the market will be open until 8:30 p.m. Next week, the market will end at 7:30 p.m. In addition to Rockford City Market, downtown will be bustling with activity as local shops, venues and restaurants participate in First Fridays and Shop the Blocks. Locations will be staying open later, offering sidewalk sales and alfresco dining, and setting up open-air “parklets” to relax and play in.

Acoustic Stage: Andrew Robinson (5:30 – 8 p.m.)
Discovery Center Museum will be offering free bubble painting in celebration of their upcoming Bubble Festival! Alpine Academy will also be at the market teaching about what they offer while providing a free kids activity.

Northern Illinois Food Bank will be promoting National Hunger Awareness Month at the gates while educating about the many ways you can help fight hunger in the area.
Stop by the Mercyhealth booth and meet employees from the endoscopy and pain departments. They will provide educational information about Mercyhealth pain services as well as the importance of colon cancer screenings. We are located at the corner of Market and Water Street from 3:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Rockford City Market takes place every Friday from May 19 through September 29 along Water Street between State and Jefferson Streets in downtown Rockford. The market runs from 3:30 – 8:30 p.m. before Labor Day and 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. after Labor Day. Rockford City Market was founded and is managed by the Rock River Development Partnership and operates with infrastructure support from the City of Rockford and marketing from the Rockford Area Convention & Visitor's Bureau.
