FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 23, 2018
ROCKFORD, IL – Memorial Day Weekend officially kicks off on Friday, May 25, and Rockford City Market has plenty of activities for the whole family! Market guests can enjoy shopping through all the unique vendor booths, grab some food from one of the several prepared vendors, and participate in a few special activities happening at the market this week.
Kids will enjoy the interactive activities provided by Natural Land Institute and International Experience USA. There are several vendors also offering kid-friendly food including popsicles from Ms. Mint’s Pop Shop, unique hotdogs from Downtown Fancy Frank’s, and classic corn on the cob from a market favorite, Lulu’s Roasted Corn.
Adults will also enjoy what the market has to offer this week. There is a special cooking demonstration starting at 6 p.m. where market-goers will be able to listen to chefs explain a recipe, and then watch as they cook the recipe right in front of them. Guests will be able to taste the finished product and take a recipe home to try it themselves. All recipes made at the market are based on what current market vendors are offering, so shoppers will be able to purchase ingredients for the recipe right at the market.
