Rockford City Market Full of Greens! Local Vendors Weekly Offering Fresh Produce

ROCKFORD, IL – Summer continues and that means the Rockford City Market also continues! This Friday, July 7, 2017 come out to do your grocery shopping, supporting local vendors at the market. Our vendors have lettuces, salad mixes, radishes, and much more available for your week of eating local. Vendors also have artisan breads, gourmet cheeses, dilly beans, salsas and so much more! Don’t miss out on an opportunity to take part in eating local and supporting local vendors!
The market is open every Friday till September 29 rain or shine. The hours of the market are 3:30 – 8:30 p.m. before Labor Day, and 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. after Labor Day.

Main Stage: Kelly Steward, alternative folk-rock country band, 4:30 – 8:00pm
Acoustic Stage: Suzy, acoustic guitar and singer, 5:30 – 8:00pm
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be promoting their Light the Night Walk which funds research to find cures and ensures access to treatment for all blood cancer patients. The organization will be offering a free paper lantern craft as well as coloring activities. Midway Village will be offering a free craft activity and promoting the many events at Midway Village Museum this summer.

Winnebago Buy Local is a coalition of local grassroots businesses, organizations and citizens in Winnebago County, Illinois acting together to encourage the community to buy local and keep our communities prosperous and sustainable. They will be promoting Eat Local Saturday, their #SocialRock2017 event, and the importance of shopping local while greeting at the gates.

Rockford City Market takes place every Friday from May 19 through September 29 along Water Street between State and Jefferson Streets in downtown Rockford. The market runs from 3:30 – 8:30 p.m. before Labor Day and 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. after Labor Day. Rockford City Market was founded and is managed by the Rock River Development Partnership and operates with infrastructure support from the City of Rockford and marketing from the Rockford Area Convention & Visitor's Bureau.
