I’m naturally a cold person. Any temperature under 75 degrees and I’ll most likely need a sweater. There is a space heater near my desk that runs year-round…yes, even in the middle of July. If you’re like me and you get cold easily, you might be worried about the chillier weather at Stroll on State. And I’m here to tell you that there’s no need to worry!

Halloween is the one night a year where kids (and even adults!) can dress up to be anything they way to be. I fondly remember my Halloween costumes as a kid including Snow White, Princess Jasmine, and a '50s girl in a poodle skirt. Usually after Halloween, our costumes would end up in my parents' basement closet, ready for whenever my sisters and I wanted to play dress up. But what if I told you that kids in the Rockford region can wear their costumes for more events than just Halloween?

Tough Mudder was held in Rockford for the first time in 2016. Out of pure curiosity, I went to watch the event that first year and was completely entertained and mesmerized by all of the participants. So much so that I signed up for the next year. Gulp. Father’s Day is right around the corner and it’s time to celebrate dads! My dad has done a lot for me growing up…everything from helping me figure out what’s wrong with an appliance, squishing spiders when I’m too scared (even to this day!) and teaching me how to do things like drive a car (or motorcycle…thanks Dad!).
