The Rockford Area Arts Awards [formerly known as The Mayor's Arts Awards] will be presented on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Rockford Art Museum.
The Rockford Area Arts Council, Mayor Thomas McNamara and Winnebago County Chairman Frank Haney invite the public to submit nominations for theRockford Area Arts Awards. Nomination forms are due to the Rockford Area Arts Council no later than December 15, 2017.
The Individual Artist Award is for an artist whose artistic achievements have generated a significant and positive impact on the community. The Community Impact Award will go to corporation/business which recognizes the importance of the arts through financial or in-kind support, use of the arts in the workplace, and/or encouragement of employees to volunteer for the arts or otherwise serves as an advocate for the arts. The Arts Advocate Award will go to an individual for exceptional efforts in advocacy, support, and/or volunteerism in the arts. The Creative Cultural Arts Event recognizes an exhibit, performance, festival, series or special cultural arts event during the 2016-2017 season which brought heightened visibility to the arts.

Main St.). From the south, I-39: west on US 20 Bypass to IL 2 (S. Main St.); north on IL 2 through the downtown to the museum complex. Park in the Riverfront Museum parking lot.
