The 12th annual Mosaic World Film Festival presents films created by professional and student filmmakers from around the world. The festival covers it all, from documentary to animation, narrative and experimental.

SATURDAY 11am - Animated films session 2pm - Second session of US and World short films 6pm - Regional Filmmakers reception and screening
SUNDAY Three feature length films from around the world: 9am - KOI, a film about the 2011 Japanese Tsunami and the perseverance that pushed an ex-convict to look for redemption by helping the victims’ families to find the remains of their loved ones. It is also about the perseverance that brought a bus driver to start to dive in order to search for his wife. (Italy, Documentary, 79 minutes)
11am - FLYING CARS - Just weeks before his wedding, an aimless filmmaker stuck at an office job develops a secret obsession with radio-controlled car racing and meets a talented girl at the racetrack who agrees to coach him behind his fiancée’s back. (US, Narrative, 90 minutes)
2pm - THREE WOMEN, a compelling portrait of three creative, contemporary African-American women friends from the South Side of Chicago. The film explores their current creative pursuits, interspersed with their perspectives on growing up in segregated communities and how racism affected their families. (US, Documentary, 72 minutes)
4pm - A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN -As a special treat we are co-hosting with the RPL a free screening of the Penny Marshall film "A League of Their Own" Open to all but it will be first-come, first-seated!
Directions: Nordlof Center / J.R. Sullivan Theater - 118 North Main St., IL Rockford, 61101 - From I-90 and E. State St. (US Business 20): west 6.5 miles on Business 20, which becomes one-way as Jefferson St., to Wyman (first street after the bridge over Rock River). Turn left (south) on Wyman to Mulberry. From I-39: west on US 20 Bypass to IL 2 (S. Main). North on IL 2 to the downtown area. (S. Main becomes Wyman, one-way north). Park in lots at Wyman and Mulberry.
