Chipmunk, rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, skunk, deer, woodchuck, opossum, snake, turkey, coyote, and fox are the most common animals that share our backyard spaces here in Northern Illinois. Learn about the lifestyles of these creatures and discover some of the adaptations you can make that may lead to harmony in your environment.

Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden - 2715 S. Main St., Rockford, IL 61102 - From I-90 and U.S. Business 20 (E. State St.), west on Business 20 to downtown Rockford. After crossing the Rock River, turn left on Church St., IL 2. Follow IL 2, which will join S. Main St. to the Arboretum on the right at Clifton Ave. From the south and west: follow U.S. Bypass 20 to S. Main (IL 2); go north on S. Main to the Arboretum on the left at Clifton.
