We are in the eighth year of the economic expansion following the “Great Recession” of 2008 and 2009. Yet what would typically be a robust recovery has not occurred, when we consider labor markets, wage growth, credit conditions, energy prices, and exports. Mr. Strauss will look at the performance of the overall macro economy with specific attention paid to key economic sectors and indicators for the U.S. economy over the next couple of years, “scriptures” as sharp wedge for critical research and theorizing in the politics of language, social formation, consciousness, and orientation.
