Film screening: Chosen (Custody of the Eyes)

Additional Information

Poor Clare nuns make vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, and enclosure. They seek anonymity and observe monastic silence.

Chosen (Custody of the Eyes) is a coming of age story about Heather*, a former blogger and painter, confronting what she believes is her calling: Becoming a cloistered nun in one of the strictest religious orders. Set within the Corpus Christi Monastery in Rockford, Illinois, Heather films her journey capturing both ordinary life and spiritual practices rarely seen by the outside world.

*Name changed to preserve the Poor Clare Colettine value of anonymity
