Holiday enthusiasts are invited to join University of Illinois Extension for their annual Horticulture for the Holidays workshop. Participants will partake in two make-and-take workshops that demonstrate how to incorporate the garden into seasonal celebrations and gift giving.
Turn a chartreuse osage orange into a beautiful evergreen wreath to decorate your home this holiday season. Join University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners to learn about these unique fruits and how you can transform them with evergreens into a beautiful holiday wreath that is sure to stand out against the rest of the wreaths on your block.
During the second project, combine fresh evergreens with festive accessories like ribbon, pine cones or berries, to create a festive swag to adorn your table, mantle, or wall for the holidays. Making holiday swags is a simple and fun way to bring greens into the house, and our Master Gardeners will walk you through the steps of putting one together.
The program fee of $25 includes all workshop materials and refreshments. Preregistration and payment are required to secure your spot. Please register by November 28th to ensure we have enough materials.
