Rockford Urban Ministries presents singer/song writer James Lee Stanley at a very intimate performance at JustGoods fair trade store’s Listening Room. The space can only seat 50 people, so tickets are for first come, they will be lucky to be served.
James Lee Stanley is well known among Rockford music fans. A long-time performer at the legendary Charlotte's Web, Mr. Stanley is known nationally as a singer-songwriter and locally as a great story teller. He calls himself "a freelance human being," and he is composer of sixteen albums; his most famous one being "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." Recently Mr. Stanley toured with former Monkee, Peter Tork. As a bit of trivia, Mr. Stanley has played extra background roles in almost every episode of "Star Trek Deep Space Nine."
Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance at JustGoods Fair Trade Store or call RUM at 815-964-7111. The store is open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm. There is very limited seating in this intimate listening room.
A percentage of sales will go towards the work of Rockford Urban Ministries, the outreach of 25 congregations that work on urban development and social justice ministries. The latest project is Rockford Work Camps, bringing volunteers into the city to work for nonprofits.
