Little Seedlings

Additional Information

Little Seedlings programs include a story, themed activities to accompany the story, a craft to bring home, and a walk through the gardens. 

Adults/caregivers are required to stay with their child for the duration of class.
Programs are designed for children ages 3-6, but children of all ages are welcome!

July 16 - Flowers (Clarcor Pavilion)
Learn how to plant a flower garden, why flowers are so important, and plant some seeds to start your own flower garden at home.

July 30 - Butterflies (Clarcor Pavilion)
The gardens at Klehm are filled with beautiful butterflies. Learn about the butterfly lifecycle and how to help take care of butterflies.

August 13 - Trees (Visitor's Center classroom)
Klehm wouldn't be an Arboretum without trees! Learn why trees are so great and create some art using parts of a tree.

August 27 - Fruits & Vegetables (Clarcor Pavilion)
So many of the foods we eat come from the garden. Learn about the different parts of plants we eat and plant some seeds to grow your own food.

Directions:
Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden - 2715 S. Main St., Rockford, IL 61102 - From I-90 and U.S. Business 20 (E. State St.), west on Business 20 to downtown Rockford. After crossing the Rock River, turn left on Church St., IL 2. Follow IL 2, which will join S. Main St. to the Arboretum on the right at Clifton Ave. From the south and west: follow U.S. Bypass 20 to S. Main (IL 2); go north on S. Main to the Arboretum on the left at Clifton.
