Host Alex Savant is a young up and coming award winning comedian from Rockford and Co-Producer of the renown collective Chill Pill Comedy. Quickly climbing through the ranks of comics in the state-line area, Alex has found a voice that sounds just as comfortable shouting over a pool hall jukebox as it does delivering biting satire in the area’s most historic theaters. This stiff upper lip style follows in the working class traditions of Pryor and Carlin - critical but not thoughtless, unabashed but not crass. Not afraid to punch above his weight class, Alex can be seen performing across the Midwest.
Guest Feature Kevin Haas is a full-time journalist that hails from the great mighty city of Rockford Illinois. When he's not in the News Tower, he's at home thinking of weird stuff to say to strangers. Kevin can be seen in bars and comedy clubs all over the Midwest.
Main Feature Esteban Touma is part Palestinian/part Latino immigrant from Ecuador, Esteban is a teacher and comedian adjusting to life in the US. A regular at The Comedy Club on State and a host of The Moth in Madison, WI, he has been featured on NPR and Wisconsin Public Radio, and has opened for comics such as Greg Fitzsimmons, Rory Scovel, Michelle Wolf, and Wyatt Cenac, among others. Esteban is a certified writer for Comedywire.com and was invited to perform at NBC Second City Break Out Festival, and the SCOUT Festival in Chicago. The U.S. Government has officially declared him an “authorized legal alien with a reentry permit.”
Headliner Charlie Kojis has been performing stand-up comedy in Madison since 2014, during which time he has been described as “this generation’s Charlie Kojis.” Combining his life experiences and general fears, Charlie blends traditional joke telling with his own personal narrative. His dry delivery leaves audiences both laughing and wondering if he is as ok as he pretends to be. Charlie performs throughout the Midwest and has opened for comedians who include Tig Notaro, Gary Gulman, and Michael Che. He was the winner of Madison's Funniest Comic Competition at Comedy on State in 2016.
