Additional Information

Truth Squad of Rockford is pleased to announce a public lecture by prominent Jewish, Israeli-American peace activist and author Miko Peled.

Peled, son of a celebrated Israeli war hero, was personally touched by tragedy when a suicide bomber took the life of his young niece in Jerusalem. This moment led him on a journey away from Zionism and into advocacy for Palestinian justice.

Miko Peled has spoken around the world about the need for peace with justice in Israel/Palestine. His biography, The General's Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine, attests to the real possibility of reconciliation between Israel supporters and Palestinians, the courage it requires, and the hope it inspires.

Peled's lecture, An Israeli's Search for Peace & Justice in Palestine, is an excellent opportunity to learn the background of the Palestinian issue from someone who has lived in Israel and knows firsthand what the conflict is about.

The United States gives Israel $10 million every day in aid, and we should understand how our tax dollars are being used.
