Smithsonian's Habitat:Protecting Habitats Protects Life

Overview

Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden is excited to announce that we will host the Smithsonian Institute’s Habitat: Protecting Habitats Protects Life exhibit for a three-month period from June 8th to September 8th, 2024.

Habitat consists of 14 different exhibit displays, sculptures and interactive components crafted by local artists, skilled tradespeople, volunteers, and Klehm’s own staff.

Habitat explores the stories and science of habitats, and the plants, animals, and humans that call them home. Displays and sculptures will be installed throughout Klehm’s 155-acres of grounds and gardens, and each will be located near paved, accessible paths where they can be viewed by guests of all ages and abilities.

Guests will begin their journey at our Visitors Center to view the first of the sculptures indoors, and will receive a map guiding them through our many landscapes and gardens to view rest of this breathtaking showcase.

This unique exhibit is included with daily admission during the exhibit period from June 8th to September 8th. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to learn about exciting programs and educational activities that align with the exhibit’s focus on learning more about the conservation of habitat throughout our shared environment.
