The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Northern Illinois is sponsoring an art show where artists, of all ages, who are receiving mental health services will be featured. At the discretion of the creators, their works will be available for purchase and all proceeds will go directly to the artists. The show will be in collaboration with Rosecrance, Stepping Stones, and Shelter Care Ministries. Our goal is to continue to break the stigma on mental illness as we demonstrate how art improves mental health and impacts recovery. We would love the community to be a part of the process. Join us!
The gallery will be open to the public on Friday October 7th & Saturday October 8th as part of the Rockford Area Arts Council's Fall Arts Scene. Tuesday October 11th will be the closing of the gallery following a special presentation on the arts and recovery for our NAMI monthly program.
This program is partially supported by a grant from the Rockford Area Arts Council which receives support from the City of Rockford, the Illinois Arts Council Agency and its members. This program is also brought to you in part by the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois.
