Get an intimate look into the fascinating world of the lorikeet. Come "face-to-beak" with these always curious nectar-feeding birds. Lorikeets are known for their playful personalities, vibrant coloration, and their ability to mimic words and sounds.

Inside the Conservatory, guests will find a special lorikeet house which provides guests an intimate look into the fascinating world of the lorikeet. Visitors will be “face to beak” with the small- to medium-sized parrots. 

Lorikeets are a group of birds classified under "true parrots," and are found throughout the Australian region. Lorikeets, or lorys, have a unique brush-tipped tongue for feeding on fruits, vegetables, and flowers and are constantly looking for nectar and fruits due to their rapid metabolism.

Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens - 1354 N. 2nd St., Rockford, IL 61107 - From I-90: Exit at U.S. 20 Business (E. State St.) and follow Business 20 into Rockford. Turn right on IL 251 and follow it north to the entrance to the Conservatory on the west side of the street. --- From the south: Exit I-39 west on U.S. 20 Bypass to IL 251 (11th St.) Follow IL 251 through town to the entrance to the Conservatory on the west side of the street.
