Wonderful Wednesday programs are designed for children and families, but all ages are welcome. No registration needed, just drop in! Programs start at 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM.
August 7 - Carnivorous Plants Did you know some plants eat animals? In this class, we will examine real live carnivorous plants and learn how they catch and consume their prey. Then we will use artistry and imagination to design and create our own original carnivorous plants!
August 14 - Nature Mandalas Take a moment of peace in the gardens with the relaxing art of mandala. Mandalas are used in Hindu and Buddhist culture to tap into creativity and inner peace. In this class we will make mandalas in the garden, exploring the colors and patterns of leaves, flowers, rocks, and sticks. There is no take home in this program as we will leave our mandalas in the garden for others to enjoy.
August 21 - Nature Paint Enjoy an afternoon of magnificent magnification! Wonder at the world around you as you view pieces of gardens with a new perspective. We will learn the basics on how to use a microscope and have lots of natural materials to view up close.
August 28 - Bird Feeder The end of summer is a great time to start feeding the birds! In this class, we’ll use tools to build a wooden bird feeder for your backyard. We will discuss where to put your bird feeder and what to fill it with to feed birds on their fall migration.
