Discovery Center Museum - Closed until further notice

In the interest of our community and each other, Discovery Center Museum will temporarily close to the public as of 5:00 pm, March 14.

While we know of no confirmed cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) among museum staff or guests, the museum is closing in accordance with public health recommendations as well as Gov. Pritzker’s decision to close all schools in the state in an effort to keep people safe. As a community resource, we feel it is our obligation to do our part to help minimize the spread of the virus and its impact on our community.

All March events at the museum will be rescheduled or postponed.

Experience a world of hands-on investigation and fun-filled exploration at this children's museum with more than 250 hands-on art and science exhibits, planetarium, TV studio, special events, traveling exhibits and entertaining classes for children and families. Tot Spot for toddlers. Plus Discovery Center boasts the nation's first community-built outdoor science park featuring 8,000 square feet of wooden fun including a two-story maze, water play area, dinosaur fossil dig pit and a Secret Garden.
