The Clark Arts Center is home to Rockford University's Department of Performing Arts and the Art Department. Along with Maddox Theatre and Cheek Theatre this complex includes drawing, sculpture, ceramics and print studios, a photography dark room, the Art Gallery, the Dance Studio, music practice rooms, fully equipped costume and scene shops, the green room, dressing rooms and costume, prop and scenery storage.
The Art Gallery, located in Clark Arts, holds three exhibitions per year featuring local artists, Rockford University students and faculty, and artists from many areas of the country.
Maddox Theatre is a fully equipped 572 seat proscenium theater which is home to a variety of performing arts events. Each year the department produces faculty directed shows, choral concerts and recitals in Maddox Theatre. It also hosts the University forum series and many community cultural events.
Cheek Theatre is a 40' by 50' flexible seating black box theater. The department produces faculty directed and student directed shows, our Three-Penny Theatre, in Cheek Theatre annually.
