Tournament Director, Shawn Wochner said “After 23 years of hosting this prestigious college bowling tournament in the Quad Cities, I am very excited to work with Lindsay Arellano and Tony Hall to bring the Leatherneck Classic to the greater Rockford area.  I am also excited to partner with the Sommer family and appreciate their commitment to gift all admission donations to the Bowlers Veteran Link (BVL).”   The Bowlers Veterans Link (BVL) is a national nonprofit charity (501(c)3) that supports America's veteran and active-duty service men and women through myriad recreational therapy programs and services to speed recuperation and boost morale to brighten their lives.

We're thrilled to announce our new partnership with the prestigious collegiate bowling tournament, the Leatherneck Classic. The Leatherneck Classic is committed to being in Rockford November 2024 - November 2028. This tournament will bring nearly 100 collegiate teams to the region to compete at three different bowling centers.  The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau along with the centers and hotels are ready to roll out the red carpet for the tournament and show them what a great sports city we are.
