GoRockford, the Rockford Park District and Hallstrom F.I.R.E Basketball are pleased to welcome 34 teams to the Rockford region on Saturday, Jan. 11 for the first Midwest Winter Roundball Tourney. Teams will be comprised of male and female players, ages 12-18. The regional basketball tournament will bring in over 500 spectators and is expected to have an estimated economic impact of $193,933.

Teams will visit from Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. What sets this tournament apart is that many of the participating players are homeschooled students. The tournament will be held at the UW Health Sports Factory (305 South Madison St., Rockford) and Keith Country Day School (1 Jacoby Place, Rockford) on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Basketball continues to rise in popularity across the nation and hosting another basketball tournament helps the Rockford region attract additional tournaments to its world-class facilities. An additional tournament with Hallstrom F.I.R.E. Basketball is set to take place in on February 22, 2025, and will bring in an additional $108,178 in estimated economic impact.
