Nike Phenom America, is bringing one of the nation’s most prestigious youth basketball camps to Rockford for the first time. The 2025 Nike Phenom America Midwest camp will take place September 20–21, 2025, at the UW Health Sports Factory (305 S. Madison St., Rockford, IL 61104).
Open to male athletes in grades 6th – 12th, the camp is expected to draw 500 spectators, generate 150 hotel room nights, and create an estimated $155,201 in economic impact for the Rockford region.
Since its inception in 2002, Nike Phenom America has been a launchpad for more than 200 NBA players and 68 WNBA players, proving its ability to help generate future basketball stars. This milestone marks the first time Rockford has been selected as a host city, showcasing the region’s growing reputation as a top-tier destination for competitive youth sports. This camp is sponsored by national powerhouses, Nike, Gatorade, and Slam Magazine.
“We are thrilled to bring this camp to the Rockford region and show Nike Phenom America that Rockford is a premier destination for youth sports,” said Kara Davis, Senior Sales Manager at GoRockford. “We hope to leverage this event to bring larger-scale camps to the area.
Adding to the excitement, this year’s camp will feature coaching and training from former Rockford Lightning Star and Chicago legend, Ronnie Fields. Campers will also get the rare opportunity to learn from top-ranked high school talent, including Diego Landin, Mexico’s #1-ranked player, and Amare Hereford, ranked #4 in Wisconsin (Beloit Memorial High School). Camp registration is currently open and will close on September 12th.
