Rockford City Market Starts Fall Hours - Market Hours are 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. For the Remainder of the Season

ROCKFORD, IL – This week at Rockford City Market marks the beginning of fall hours for the market. With the daylight hours getting shorter as the first day of fall approaches, the market will now have hours of 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. starting on Friday, September 7 and continuing until the end of the 2018 season. Shoppers will still be able to enjoy all of the amenities of the market for the rest of the season. Vendors will start selling fall-focused items and goods in the coming weeks as the season begins to transition into fall. Once the market is closed at 7:30 p.m., market guests are also encouraged to stay in downtown Rockford and enjoy the shops, restaurants and attractions in the downtown area.

SPECIAL EVENT

Come watch the free cooking demonstration at the market at 6 p.m. near the East State Street Pavilion entrance. This week’s demonstration focuses on in-season tomatoes and basil with their recipe for Ravioli Puttanesca.

 

ACTIVITIES

Come to the tent where this week, the kids can make a fun fall tree craft!

 

ENTRANCE GATES

The Northern Illinois Food Bank leads the Northern Illinois community in solving hunger by providing nutritious meals to those in need through innovative programs and partnerships. Since 1983, food manufacturers, local grocers, corporations, foundations, and individuals have come together to donate food and funds, evaluate and repack food for distribution to more than 800 community food pantries and feeding programs serving more than 71,500 hungry neighbors each week across 13 counties. Come visit with volunteers this Friday and learn about National Hunger Awareness Month!

Rockford City Market takes place every Friday from May 18 through September 28 along Water Street between State and Jefferson Streets in downtown Rockford. The market runs from 3:30 – 8:30 p.m. before Labor Day and 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. after Labor Day.
