ROCKFORD, IL – The NAACP Rockford Branch and GoRockford are pleased to announce that Rockford has been selected to host the 90th Annual NAACP Illinois State Conference Convention, September 24–26, 2027, at Embassy Suites by Hilton Rockford Riverfront.

The milestone convention will return to Rockford for the first time in 15 years, bringing an anticipated 250 attendees to the region for the three-day statewide gathering. Attendees will include NAACP members, community leaders, youth, business leaders, elected officials and community partners from across Illinois.

GoRockford worked alongside the NAACP Rockford Branch to help secure the convention and will continue partnering with local and statewide organizers as planning moves forward.

Securing the convention supports GoRockford’s ongoing efforts to attract meetings, conventions, sporting events and other gatherings that bring visitors to the region and generate economic activity throughout the community.

Planning for the 2027 convention will bring together the NAACP Rockford Branch, the NAACP Illinois State Conference, GoRockford and other community stakeholders. Planning efforts will include hospitality, community connections, marketing and promotion, entertainment and sponsorship opportunities.
