Katie’s Cup

Katie’s Cup is a bookstore for all the coffee lovers out there. This cute new and used bookstore doubles as a café with a variety of different drinks, breakfast, lunch, and bakery items, and they have gluten-free and vegetarian options. They host tons of events including the Rockford Midtown Market, Cars and Coffee Rockford, a monthly book club, discussions, live music, private events, and so much more, so there’s always something to do at Katie’s Cup, even if it’s just curl up in their cozy café with a cup of coffee and read a book!

The Novel Spot

Located just 20 minutes from Rockford, The Novel Spot is settled in the heart of downtown Pecatonica. This quaint little bookstore has all there is to offer: a monthly book club, friendly and knowledgeable staff, local authors, a kid’s book and activity room, and a shop dog (please ask before you pet!). They have an incredibly cozy interior to sit and enjoy a great book along with an exterior straight out of a Hallmark movie. All in all, The Novel Spot is a must-see when you’re in the Pecatonica area!

Inkwell Books & Threads is also located about 20 minutes from Rockford in the small town of Rockton. Inkwell has both new and used books, but also offers tons of other merchandise as well, including clothing, gifts, and other goodies. They host regular author events, always have fun crafts and activities to do in the store, and host their own book club. Inkwell has several places to spend an afternoon reading or completing a fun craft, and it’s a place you can get lost in for hours. This cozy bookstore is absolutely worth a trip to Rockton on its own, but there are so many fun places to visit in the surrounding area as well!

Drewelow’s House of Books is a used bookstore located here in Rockford. Aside from their impressive inventory and cozy feel, Drewelow’s has tons of other goodies for sale, including clothing, jewelry, records, vintage trinkets, and more.
