Marinelli Field, located at Blackhawk Park, was built in 1988 and was the home of the Midwest League Rockford Expos (1988-1992), the Rockford Royals (1993-1994), the Rockford Cubbies (1995-1998) and the Rockford Reds (1999). The independent, professional Rockford RiverHawks played at Marinelli Field from 2002-2006.
Currently, the stadium is owned by the Rockford Park District and operated by Rock River Valley Baseball
Marinelli Field is the host of various amateur tournaments, showcases, high school games, practices and other events.
