Social was opened in 2010 in the busy 500 block of east state street in Downtown Rockford as a highly focused cocktail bar and restaurant. When Covid hit, we shut down like everyone and stayed closed until March 1st 2023. When we re opened after 3 years, we knew we wanted to do something different than our traditional knife & fork menu to compliment our cocktails and vibe. What is a charcuterie bar?? The simplest way to explain it is to reference something most everyone already knows...SUSHI. (or to people that have spent time in Spain, PINTXOS Bar) We have always been big fans of cured meats, sausages, pates, cheese, pickles, olives, mustard, jams and all the other fun snacky things that come along with a traditional charcuterie board. So we took those ingredients and created a style menu that eats like a sushi menu... replace the rice with toasted bread and the fish with cured meat, seafood or cheese and the soy/ginger/wasabi with pickles/mustard/jams on individual composed "BITES".
