CRE8IV: A Vibrant Legacy of Art and Community

Launched in 2018 with a bold vision to add color, creativity, and community pride to the region, CRE8IV: Murals has more than delivered. Over the course of five incredible years, 57 vibrant murals have transformed walls, bridges, columns, and buildings across Rockford, Roscoe, Rockton, Pecatonica, and Loves Park.

From large-scale florals and soaring birds to bold colors and iconic Rockford imagery, like the Rockford Peaches, the Symbol, the sock monkey, and Jane the dinosaur, each mural is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece reflecting the heart and soul of our community. Some even feature familiar faces that have helped shape the region.

The mural program culminated in style with a three-day festival in 2024, celebrating its lasting legacy and the artists, sponsors, and residents who made it possible. While this chapter of CRE8IV has concluded, GoRockford remains open to exceptional opportunities to add new murals to the collection—so visitors may still see new works appear from time to time.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our incredible sponsors—your support made this colorful journey possible, and your impact will be visible for years to come.
