Sculptures
The CRE8IV Sculpture program began in 2015 with a small leased exhibition that quickly captured the community’s attention. When the initial sculptures were removed in 2017, their absence was strongly felt, reinforcing the value of public art in shared spaces. In response, the program returned in 2018 as a biennial exhibition and has continued to grow in scale and impact.
Today, CRE8IV features 34 large-scale sculptures installed throughout Rockford along main corridors and in neighborhood settings. The collection includes 11 permanently acquired works, demonstrating a long-term investment in artists and public art, alongside rotating sculptures that refresh the exhibition every two years. Supported by the City of Rockford, community sponsors, and donors, the CRE8IV Sculpture Program continues to shape the city’s landscape through bold, engaging, and enduring works of art.
