The Rockford Speedway, for the first time in its 69 years of competition has been converted from a paved surface to clay for the "Outlaw Clay Classic." When I first heard about this event a couple months ago, my first thought was "that sounds dangerous, and fun to shoot... Sign me up!"

For this week's photo blog, I wanted to show the focus that's been in the back of my head for a few weeks -- making cleaner images. With my photography background mostly in photojournalism and landscape photography, I find the two styles (particularly in how the photo is executed) often clash.
