When you think back to your childhood, certain things probably come to mind. Toys you played with, TV shows you watched, or maybe books you’ve read. Some of these things come and go between generations, but there are a few things that stick around for a while. One of those things is a family favorite – Thomas the Tank Engine.

I’m naturally a cold person. Any temperature under 75 degrees and I’ll most likely need a sweater. There is a space heater near my desk that runs year-round…yes, even in the middle of July. If you’re like me and you get cold easily, you might be worried about the chillier weather at Stroll on State. And I’m here to tell you that there’s no need to worry!

Our Beautiful Forest City
Thursday, October 4, 2018 12:00 PM by Mary French

Forest City and Forest City Beautiful…Most likely you’ve heard these terms, but what do they mean? Both serve as great compliments to our beautiful city. Simply put, Forest City is a nickname that stems from the many trees and forests that beautify our region. In my opinion, one of the area’s finest attributes. After all, a beautiful city is one that residents are proud to call home. An initiative powering that pride is Forest City Beautiful.

Pink in the Rink Night - Rockford IceHogs
Monday, January 29, 2018 1:00 PM by Tyler Yomantas

I have been to more Rockford IceHogs games in my life than I can recall. As a kid, I was brought along to these games on the weekends, often following my sister's hockey practice or games. So throughout the years, I have been on and off following the IceHogs and the Chicago Blackhawks. It wasn't until last season, and mostly this season, where I started paying a bit more attention to our local team. Attending multiple games this season, I can say this is a team worth watching.
Go Go Rockford Go Guide
Friday, January 5, 2018 11:00 AM by Elizabeth Miller

I've designed several booklets while I was in college. Although I was really proud of each of those projects, there's only so many people who actually get to see all of your hard work...a.k.a. professors, classmates, and parents. So being the graphic designer of the RACVB's brand new Rockford Region Go Guide is a big deal for me because not only will my coworkers (and parents) see it, but hopefully so will the rest of the Rockford region and beyond!
