When we think about fall we think cozy sweaters, hot lattes, pretty leaves, apple cider and more. Well come to find out, we perfectly described the Rockford region! If you haven’t yet, you will fall in love with the 8-1-5 this autumn.
Labor Day Weekend is always a time for fun get-togethers with family and friends, grilling out, and enjoying the last bit of summer! The holiday celebrates and pays tribute to the working men and women in this country, but also serves as the unofficial end to summer. As we enjoy this last stretch of warm weather in the Midwest, here are some suggestions of things to do and places to go to celebrate Labor Day Weekend!
Since interning at the RACVB, one of my favorite things about working in Rockford has been the food. As an individual who is gluten free and lives in a small town with very limited GF options for eating out, the food scene, particularly the GF food scene, in Rockford has been everything. One of my favorites has been Quixotic Bakery. Quixotic Bakery, best known for their cake-in-a-jar, is a hidden gem of Rockford and very accommodating to those who have dietary restrictions (gluten free and vegan individuals).
As we flip our calendars into July, and the long holiday weekend passes, it begins to feel like summer is in full swing. Personally, I always feel like the 4th of July is that midpoint of the season, and it’s time to start checking things off the summer “to do” list. If you’re looking for some fun things to do in the Rockford area this summer, I got you covered.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner and it’s time to celebrate and pamper our favorite ladies in our lives! Stumped on what to do for Mother’s Day this year? Let us help be your guide!

Now that you’ve spent hours in the kitchen preparing all the holiday meals, it’s time to take a break and let the best local restaurants of Rockford take care of dinner. There are so many options to choose from, and best of all, you can support all these restaurants from the comfort of your home. Make trying Rockford hot spots a resolution this year!
