As some of you probably already know, the RACVB hosted a very special guest last week...Mini Abe from the Illinois Office of Tourism! I was lucky enough to help chauffer him around town to see some of Rockford's amazing sites and attractions.

Let me tell you, it was a VERY busy week. Mini Abe visited nearly 30 different locations in Rockford! To get a glimpse of Mini Abe's trip in Rockford, check out this video:

I want to give a big shout out to all the amazing sites and attractions that let us stop by with Mini Abe. His experiences were nothing less than impressive! Did you know Mini Abe actually got to sit on top of Jane at the Burpee Museum? Or that he got to go into the kitchen to see how his Swedish pancakes were made at Stockholm Inn?

And what I thought was great was that people outside of the sites and attractions were noticing him too! On Friday we took Mini Abe to the IceHogs game, and then the next morning we took him to breakfast at Stockholm Inn. While we were sitting there with Mini Abe, a couple came up to us and asked us what Mini Abe was about...since they had been sitting right behind us at the IceHogs game the night before!

Although we might have looked a little strange carrying around a miniature Abe Lincoln all week, I'm so glad we had the chance to do it. It's such a fun and unique way to promote our incredible sites, attractions, restaurants, and shops! Maybe Rockford needs its own version of a Mini Abe...what do you think?

(Are you curious as to where else Mini Abe went while he was in Rockford? We have a whole album of photos of him on our Facebook page! You can view the album here.)
